Concord Pacific says it’s ready to push forward with what it’s calling Concord Landing — a development of the long-dormant northeast shore of False Creek that the developer says will create housing but also “a vibrant, walkable village that serves both residents and visitors.”

While the courthouse will remain closed on Tuesday, police say the surrounding area, including Douglas College, is now open to the public again.

Lawrence Diehl, 73, has been charged with the second-degree murder of Christopher Smith, who was fatally stabbed on the Portage Bridge between Ottawa and Gatineau almost 30 years ago.

RCMP have closed a portion of downtown Kelowna and told businesses in the area to shelter in place after finding a "suspicious backpack" on Leon Avenue.
